In short: Before becoming a screen villain in Mad Max: Fury Road, Nathan Jones was one of Australia's most wanted men. After serving seven years for armed robbery, he discovered powerlifting in prison, eventually pivoting from a brutal strongman career to professional wrestling and, finally, a prolific career as a cinematic antagonist.

Born in 1970 on the Gold Coast, Nathan Jones spent his youth as a delinquent, culminating in a 16-year sentence in 1987 for eight armed robberies. During his seven-year incarceration at Boggo Road Gaol, he discovered powerlifting, rapidly rising to become the National Powerlifting Champion of Australia. Upon his release in 1994, he transitioned into strongman competitions, earning the nickname Megaman and winning the 1995 World Strength Championship in Scotland.

His athletic career was marked by extreme intensity and physical setbacks. In the 1995 World's Strongest Man contest, Jones suffered a spiral fracture of the humerus during an arm-wrestling match against Magnus Samuelsson. By the early 2000s, he entered professional wrestling, winning the WWA World Heavyweight Championship in 2002. His WWE tenure, however, was complicated by visa issues related to his criminal history. He eventually debuted on SmackDown! in 2003, portraying a character nicknamed The Colossus of Boggo Road, before quitting the company later that year due to the grueling travel schedule.

Following his retirement from wrestling in 2005, Jones shifted his focus entirely to acting. Having debuted in the 1996 film Police Story IV: First Strike, he became a recognizable face in action cinema, often cast as a formidable antagonist. His filmography includes roles in Troy, Conan the Barbarian, and Mortal Kombat. Most notably, he portrayed Rictus Erectus in the 2015 blockbuster Mad Max: Fury Road and reprised the role for the 2024 prequel, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Today, he continues to build his career in film, far removed from the prison walls that once defined his early life.
