How Pink turned a stadium tour into a record-breaking, high-flying circus spectacle
In short: Pink's Summer Carnival tour redefined the modern stadium concert, blending high-octane acrobatics with intimate vocal performances. Spanning from 2023 to 2024, the tour became a global phenomenon, drawing millions of fans and securing its place as one of the highest-grossing concert tours by a woman in music history.
The Summer Carnival tour, supporting the 2023 album Trustfall, officially began on June 7, 2023, in Bolton, England, and concluded on November 18, 2024, in Orlando. The production was noted for its sheer scale and ambition, incorporating elements of a circus troupe that saw the artist performing aerial stunts. Critics, such as Paul Brannigan and Dave Simpson, highlighted the contrast between the extravagant, high-energy spectacle and the stripped-back, intimate acoustic segments that showcased the singer's raw vocal ability.
Beyond the performance, the tour had a significant economic impact. In Townsville, Australia, a single concert date reportedly drew over 60,000 people, with local officials projecting a $20 million injection into the regional economy. The tour's logistical complexity was also evident in its scheduling, which included multiple postponements due to health reasons and a massive expansion of dates across Europe, North America, and Oceania. Supporting acts varied by region, featuring artists like Sheryl Crow, Tones and I, and Brandi Carlile, who joined for a notable tribute performance.
By the time the tour concluded in November 2024, Billboard reported a total gross of $584.7 million from 4.8 million tickets sold. This financial success cemented the tour's status as the third highest-grossing concert tour by a woman as of March 2026. The production remains a case study in how modern pop stars leverage massive, multi-year stadium runs to create immersive, genre-defying experiences that resonate with diverse audiences worldwide.
