The traditional ceremony marking the return of three astronauts
In short: After spending over five months in orbit, the crew of Soyuz TMA-09M returned to Earth. This video captures the traditional reception in Kazakhstan that marks the end of their long-duration mission.
On November 11, Commander Fyodor Yurchikhin, NASA Flight Engineer Karen Nyberg, and ESA Flight Engineer Luca Parmitano were welcomed at an airport in Karaganda, Kazakhstan. The ceremony followed their landing in the Soyuz TMA-09M spacecraft.
The crew spent a total of 166 days in space, having launched in late May. These missions involve international cooperation between NASA, the European Space Agency, and Russian space programs.
