Three space travelers return to Earth after four months orbiting the planet
In short: A crew of three astronauts successfully returned to Earth, landing in Kazakhstan after completing a mission aboard the International Space Station. This video documents their arrival and the immediate physical transition back to gravity after spending over four months in orbit.
The mission concluded on September 17, when the Soyuz TMA-04M capsule touched down on the Kazakh steppe near Arkalyk. The crew, led by Gennady Padalka alongside two flight engineers, had spent 125 days in space, with 123 of those days docked at the International Space Station. They departed the station after handing over operations to the Expedition 33 team.
Upon extraction from their spacecraft, the crew required assistance from ground personnel to sit in reclining chairs. This process marks the start of their physical readaptation to Earth's gravity following their extended period in a microgravity environment, which began with their launch in mid-May.
