How the Albert Einstein vessel autonomously docked with the ISS
In short: This video captures the flawless rendezvous of the ESA's fourth Automated Transfer Vehicle, Albert Einstein, as it successfully approached and docked with the International Space Station to deliver essential supplies.
The 20-tonne vessel navigated its approach using GPS signals. To guarantee a seamless docking during the concluding 250 metres, the craft switched to laser signals bouncing off the Zvezda ISS module's rear section.
This autonomous mission was critical for delivering fuel, vital supplies, and scientific experiments to the astronauts aboard the orbital outpost.
