The race to map a comet before landing on its surface
In short: As the Philae lander prepares for its descent to comet 67P, the Rosetta mission is working against time to map the celestial body and gather essential data.
The video explores the complex maneuvers required to orbit a comet and the methods the Rosetta spacecraft uses to observe its target. This mission is a critical race to prepare detailed maps and collect scientific data before the Philae lander is deployed to the surface of comet 67P in November.
