The final countdown: Preparing for life on the International Space Station
In short: Watch as the Expedition 40/41 crew completes their last qualification training in Russia. This footage captures the high-stakes preparation required before a six-month journey into orbit.
Final preparations occurred at Star City's Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center during May 6 and 7, involving Commander Max Suraev (Roscosmos), Reid Wiseman (NASA), and Alexander Gerst (ESA). They were joined by their designated backups: Anton Shkaplerov, Terry Virts, and Samantha Cristoforetti.
The team is preparing for a May 29 launch from Kazakhstan aboard the Soyuz TMA-13M spacecraft. This mission will see them stationed on the International Space Station for six months.
