The Boeing Crew Flight Test is a critical mission for NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. By evaluating the entire transportation system—including the ULA Atlas V rocket, the launch infrastructure at Cape Canaveral’s Space Launch Complex-41, and the spacecraft’s in-orbit performance—the agency is gathering the data necessary to certify Starliner for future rotational missions to the International Space Station.
Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams arrived at the station on June 6, 2024, following a launch one day prior. This mission serves as a comprehensive validation of the vehicle's capabilities, from launch through to the eventual return to Earth with a crew on board.
