A final look at the Space Shuttle era
In short: Witness President Obama's 2011 visit to the Kennedy Space Center, where the First Family toured facilities during the final preparations for the shuttle program's concluding mission.
The footage captures a tour of the Orbiter Processing Facility-1 on April 29, 2011, as officials prepared the shuttle Atlantis for its final mission, STS-135. The visit also included a stop at the Launch Control Center, where the President met the six crew members of Endeavour's STS-134 mission.
While the family had intended to witness the launch of Endeavour, the attempt was scrubbed just hours before the scheduled 3:47 p.m. EDT liftoff due to equipment issues.
