The S.S. Rick Husband: A Tribute in Orbit
In short: NASA and Orbital ATK are preparing for a critical resupply mission to the International Space Station. This video previews the launch of the Cygnus spacecraft, detailing its cargo and its namesake's legacy.
The Cygnus spacecraft is scheduled to launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station at 11:05 p.m. EDT. It will deliver nearly 7,500 pounds of essential materials, including crew supplies, vehicle hardware, and equipment for dozens of scientific investigations during Expeditions 47 and 48.
This flight honours the American military's Colonel Rick Husband; he led STS-107, the Space Shuttle Columbia voyage that perished while returning on 1 February 2003.
