How a cargo craft delivers essential supplies to the International Space Station
In short: This video explores the launch of the Orbital ATK Cygnus cargo craft, a vital mission designed to transport food, science experiments, and supplies to the crew members living aboard the International Space Station.
On March 22, the Orbital ATK Cygnus cargo craft launched from Florida's Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Riding atop a United Launch Alliance Atlas 5 rocket, the craft carried nearly 7,500 pounds of essential cargo for the six crew members on the International Space Station.
The mission's spacecraft was named the 'SS Rick Husband' to honor the commander of the STS-107 flight, which ended in the breakup of the Columbia spacecraft over Texas in February 2003.
