In short: Watch the precise moments the Soyuz MS-03 docked with the International Space Station. This footage captures the critical arrival and hatch opening for the Proxima mission, marking the start of a six-month journey in orbit.

The video documents the docking and ingress of the Soyuz MS-03 spacecraft on 19 November 2016. This arrival followed the launch of astronauts Thomas Pesquet, Peggy Whitson, and Oleg Novitsky from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on 17 November.

As part of the Proxima mission, ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet conducted approximately 50 scientific experiments for ESA and CNES. This mission represents the ninth long-duration mission for an ESA astronaut and serves as a stepping stone for future exploration deeper into the Solar System.
