The structural backbone connecting the world's leading space laboratories

Space Station 360: Harmony (Node 2) · 3:30 · Video: European Space Agency, ESA · Watch at the source

In short: Experience a full 360-degree panorama of the Harmony module, the International Space Station's vital fifth component. This immersive view reveals the engineering required to link global research hubs in orbit.

Launched on October 23, 2007, aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery, the Harmony module (Node 2) serves as a critical junction. It was specifically designed to connect three major laboratories: Columbus, Kibo, and Destiny.

While developed for NASA, the module was produced under a contract with the European Space Agency (ESA) and European industry. Its design draws from the structure of the Multi-Purpose Logistics Modules and Europe’s Columbus module.
