A precision ballet: the docking of Soyuz TMA-13M
In short: Watch the delicate six-hour journey as the Soyuz TMA-13M spacecraft approaches and latches onto the International Space Station.
This footage captures the final approach and docking of the Expedition 40/41 crew, including ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst, NASA's Reid Wiseman, and Roscosmos commander Maxim Suraev. On 29 May 2014, the spacecraft successfully docked with the Station's ports.
The mission marks the beginning of a six-month stay on the ISS, during which Alexander Gerst will conduct more than 100 experiments as part of his Blue Dot mission.
