Can the Brewers break the Dodgers' dominance in this high-stakes rematch?
In short: The 2026 National League Championship Series features a clash between two powerhouse rosters. While the Los Angeles Dodgers carry a massive 14-season postseason streak, the Milwaukee Brewers enter with home-field advantage and momentum from a dominant regular season. This best-of-seven series determines who moves on to the World Series.
The 2026 NLCS is a highly anticipated rematch of the previous year's National League pennant matchup. It pits the Los Angeles Dodgers against the Milwaukee Brewers in a best-of-seven series that began on October 11. Statistically, this pairing marks the inaugural postseason encounter involving dual 100-win squads since the 2021 NLDS between the San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Los Angeles Dodgers arrive with a formidable pedigree, having extended their postseason streak to 14 consecutive seasons from 2013 to 2026. This run ties them for the longest in MLB history, a record shared with the 1991–2005 Atlanta Braves. As two-time defending champions, the Dodgers are aiming for their sixth World Series appearance in the last decade.
Conversely, the Milwaukee Brewers enter the series seeking their first NL pennant and their first World Series berth since 1982. Despite their recent success, including a fourth consecutive postseason berth and a National League Central title, the Brewers have historically struggled against the Dodgers, having lost all three of their previous postseason meetings against the team.
The series structure is a best-of-seven format, with a potential Game 7 scheduled for October 19. While the Brewers secured home-field advantage throughout the MLB playoffs on September 24, the outcome remains uncertain as both teams look to secure their place in the 122nd World Series, which is slated to begin on October 23.
