Laufey's A Matter of Time Tour: A Global Arena Odyssey Across Four Continents
In short: Spanning 70 shows across North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, Laufey's third concert tour marked her transition into large-scale arena performances. From intensive rehearsals in Clarksville to the inclusion of rotating surprise tracks, the tour showcased a meticulously planned production that adapted to overwhelming demand in multiple international cities.
The A Matter of Time Tour, supporting Laufey's third full-length album of the same name, represented a significant evolution in the Icelandic musician's career. Announced in May 2025, the tour was her first to be held entirely in arenas. To prepare for the technical demands of such a large-scale production, Laufey conducted rehearsals at the F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville, Tennessee, located approximately one hour north of Nashville. The tour officially commenced on 15 September 2025 in Orlando, Florida, and concluded nearly a year later on 12 September 2026 in Mexico City.
The tour's logistical footprint was expansive, featuring a diverse array of opening acts tailored to specific regions. Suki Waterhouse supported the North American leg, while Alice Phoebe Lou joined for UK and European dates. Other performers included Elín Hall in Iceland, Potatoi in South Korea, and Leonie Biney in Australia and New Zealand. High demand necessitated the addition of extra dates throughout the tour, including shows in London, Kópavogur, Pasay, Melbourne, Sydney, Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Guangzhou, alongside the initial expansion in Los Angeles, Oakland, New York, and Toronto.
Beyond the core set list, which varied from the inaugural Orlando performance, the tour featured a unique element: a rotating surprise song. Beginning with the 18 September 2025 show in Fort Worth, this track changed at every performance, occasionally featuring special guests or even two surprise songs per night. This dynamic approach ensured that while the arena production remained consistent, each individual concert offered a distinct experience for the audience, reflecting the tour's title and the evolving nature of Laufey's live performances across its 70-show duration.
