In short: Before he was a household name in global promotions, Jonathan Huber honed his craft in gritty independent rings. Known to fans as Brodie Lee, he transformed from a masked novice into a dominant force, eventually capturing major titles and influencing the landscape of professional wrestling through his unique, imposing presence.

Born in Rochester, New York, in 1979, Jonathan Huber began his journey as a backyard performer under the moniker Huberboy #2. His formal training under coaches like Tony Mamaluke and Kirby Marcos propelled him into the independent circuit by 2003. He famously adopted the name Brodie Lee as a nod to the film Mallrats, blending the names of actor Jason Lee and the character Brodie Bruce, though his style often drew comparisons to the legendary Bruiser Brody.

Huber’s rise through the independent ranks was marked by intense rivalries and strategic alliances. In promotions like Chikara, he evolved from a guest performer into a formidable heel, notably adopting the 'Big Rig' persona and a trucker gimmick. His tenure in Jersey All Pro Wrestling (JAPW) saw him achieve significant success, including holding both the JAPW New Jersey State Championship and the JAPW Heavyweight Championship simultaneously in 2010. His reputation for dominance was solidified through his work in Dragon Gate USA and Evolve, where he frequently clashed with top-tier talent.

In 2012, Huber signed with WWE, transitioning into the character Luke Harper. As a central figure in The Wyatt Family, he secured multiple tag team championships, including reigns in NXT and on the SmackDown brand. Following his WWE departure in 2019, he debuted in All Elite Wrestling as Mr. Brodie Lee, where he led The Dark Order and captured the AEW TNT Championship. His career was tragically cut short when he passed away in December 2020 at age 41 due to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most respected performers of his generation.
