From parking lots to the ring: the dual life of professional wrestler Brody King
In short: Before he was a multi-time world champion in All Elite Wrestling, Nathan Troy Blauvelt worked in a car park. Today, the man known as Brody King balances a high-impact career in the ring with a life as a hardcore punk vocalist.
Born in Van Nuys, California, in 1987, Nathan Troy Blauvelt’s path to professional wrestling was far from glamorous. Prior to his studies at Santinos Bros Academy, a job at the Kia Forum car park was held by him. He officially debuted in 2015, adopting the ring name Brody King as a tribute to wrestling legends Bruiser Brody and Brodie Lee.
King’s career is defined by a rare versatility. In the wrestling ring, he has achieved 'triple champion' status across different promotions, holding titles in Ring of Honor, the NWA, and World Series Wrestling. His success in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) includes multiple reigns as a World Trios Champion and a World Tag Team Champion alongside Bandido, under the team name 'Brodido'.
However, his creative output extends beyond the squared circle. King is the lead vocalist for the hardcore punk band God's Hate, a group he co-founded alongside Colin Young. Since their 2014 debut EP, *Divine Injustice*, the band has released several albums, including *Mass Murder* in 2016 and *God's Hate* in 2021. He also featured in the Netflix sketch comedy show, I Think You Should Leave.
Beyond entertainment, King has used his platform for political expression. In 2025, he notably wore an 'Abolish ICE' shirt in Mexico City to support protestors against deportation policies in his home region. The move led to him donating over $27,000 from t-shirt sales to the Local Hearts Foundation, demonstrating the influence a modern performer can wield through their visibility.
