In short: For over a century, Bromley F.C. navigated the complex hierarchies of English football, moving between regional leagues and amateur cups. Now, following a historic run of promotions, this Greater London club has finally broken into the professional ranks of the English Football League.

Established in 1892, Bromley F.C. spent much of its history as a fixture of the English non-league scene. The club’s early decades were defined by frequent movement between the Southern, London, and Kent leagues, as well as stints in the Spartan and Athenian leagues. During this era, they established themselves as a force in amateur football, securing the FA Amateur Cup in 1910–11, 1937–38, and 1948–49.

The club's modern trajectory is marked by a significant recent surge. After competing in the Isthmian League and the Conference South, Bromley achieved a landmark milestone in the 2023–24 season. By winning the National League play-offs—defeating Solihull Moors 4–3 on penalties after a 2–2 draw through extra time—they earned promotion to the English Football League (EFL) for the first time in their history.

The momentum continued into the 2025–26 season, where the club secured the League Two title after a 3–1 victory over Walsall. This victory propelled them into League One, the third tier of English football. While the club has experienced periods of relegation and instability throughout the 20th century, their recent success represents a definitive shift from regional competition to professional league status.

Home matches are played at Hayes Lane, a site the club has occupied since 1904. While the club has seen various triumphs, including FA Trophy glory in 2021–22, they have also faced significant challenges, such as an 11–1 defeat against Barking in the 1933–34 season.
