In short: After a long hiatus caused by health issues and the cancellation of her Courage World Tour, Celine Dion is returning to live performance. Her 2026–2027 residency at the Plenitude Arena in Nanterre is not just a comeback; it is a massive, high-demand event that has left the music world watching.

Announced in March 2026 via a video message filmed beneath the Eiffel Tower, the residency marks Dion's return to the stage after several years away. The engagement is split into two parts, beginning on 12 September 2026 and scheduled to conclude on 29 May 2027. The production, overseen by creative director Willo Perron, is set at the Plenitude Arena, Europe's largest indoor arena, placing Dion among a select group of artists to headline the venue for an extended run.

The demand for the residency has been unprecedented. Over nine million supporters joined a draw for priority ticket access, resulting in total sell-outs in mere hours. To meet this interest, Dion added six additional dates on 7 April 2026, and in June, ten more concerts were announced to take place in May 2027. The residency features a repertoire of her most recognizable French- and English-language songs, serving as a tribute to her career catalogue.

Critics have noted the shift in Dion's performance style. Writing for The Daily Telegraph, Neil McCormick described the comeback as the "riskiest comeback in the history of showbusiness," observing a voice that sounded fragile but offered a "raw and real" quality with a rougher tone. Similarly, Alma Rota of Rolling Stone noted that while Dion previously demanded "almost impossible perfection," her later performances embrace visible vulnerability and risk.

The engagement is a complex logistical undertaking produced by Concerts West, AEG Presents, and Inter Concerts. It involves various partners, including Visa for priority access and Marriott Bonvoy for VIP hotel experiences. The residency's scale is reflected in its initial 2026 portion, which included 16 shows and accounted for more than 480,000 tickets.
