How a teenage prodigy became a €70 million striker
In short: From making his professional debut at just 15 years old to commanding a massive transfer fee, Dušan Vlahović’s ascent through European football is a masterclass in clinical finishing and physical dominance. Discover the rapid rise of the Serbian striker who once matched the scoring rates of legends.
Dušan Vlahović’s journey began in the Partizan Belgrade youth system, where he made history as the club's youngest-ever debutant in February 2016. By the age of 15, he had already signed his first professional contract. His early talent was undeniable; he became the youngest scorer in Partizan's history and was scouted by major European clubs like Arsenal and Juventus, though the Serbian side initially declined all offers.
His move to Italy in 2018 marked the beginning of a prolific era in Serie A. During his time with Fiorentina, Vlahović established himself as a premier talent, winning the Serie A Best Young Player award for the 2020–21 season. His efficiency was remarkable; in the 2021–22 season, he joined Cristiano Ronaldo as the only player to score 33 Serie A goals in a single calendar year since 1951. His ability to hold up play and dribble past defenders made him one of the most productive players in Europe's top five leagues.
In January 202 and 22, Juventus secured his services for a reported €70 million, plus €10 million in bonuses, making him the most expensive transfer of that winter window. While his time in Turin included significant milestones—such as scoring the decisive goal in the 2024 Coppa Italia final—it also faced challenges, including hamstring injuries and a departure as a free agent in 2026. Now playing for Beşiktaş in Turkey, Vlahović continues to demonstrate the clinical edge that has defined his career on the international and club stages.
