The final battle begins as My Hero Academia enters its seventh season
In short: As the war to determine the fate of the world commences, the stakes have never been higher. Following the original manga's conclusion, this season shifts from training to a high-stakes conflict involving America's number one hero and a mole within the student ranks.
Produced by Bones and directed by Kenji Nagasaki and Naomi Nakayama, the seventh season of the My Hero Academia anime adapts the final chapters of Kōhei Horikoshi's manga. Specifically, the narrative covers the story from the beginning of volume 34 through the end of volume 39, spanning chapters 329 to 398.
The season's structure marks a departure from previous installments. While seasons one through five each consisted of 25 episodes, this seventh season runs for 21 episodes. The broadcast aired on ytv and NTV between May 4 and October 12, 2024, preceded by four 'Memories' recap specials in April.
The plot introduces Star and Stripe, the top Pro Hero in America, who arrives to confront Tomura Shigaraki at All Might's request. As the U.A. As U.A. High pupils and Pro Heroes gear up for their ultimate clash with the Paranormal Liberation Front's villains, the discovery of a traitor within Izuku's peer group adds complexity. This forces the heroes to decide whether they can save the villains as they execute a plan to divide and conquer the opposition.
Global distribution is handled by Crunchyroll, which licenses the season and the 'Memories' specials outside of Asia, typically providing an English dub two weeks after the original Japanese airing. In the Asia-Pacific region, the season is licensed by Medialink. The musical landscape for this season features several new themes. TK from Ling Tosite Sigure performs the initial opening track, 'Tagatame'. Meanwhile, Omoinotake provides the first ending song, 'Tsubomi'. Later in the season, Yuuri performs 'Curtain Call' as the second opening, followed by Zarame's 'Rokutōsei' for the second ending.
