In short: Founded in 2014, Pafos FC has rapidly ascended from a local consolidation project to the pinnacle of Cypriot football. By professionalizing its academy and infrastructure, the club secured its first major trophy and league title in 2024, eventually punching a ticket to the prestigious UEFA Champions League league stage.

Pafos FC emerged on 10 June 2014, born from the merger of AEP Paphos and AEK Kouklia to unify senior football in the Paphos district. After an initial period of fluctuating between the top and second tiers of Cypriot football, the club entered a new phase of development in 2017 under the control of Total Sports Investments, an entity linked to British-based businessman Roman Dubov. This era focused on rigorous professionalization of the first team and academy, alongside significant upgrades to the club's training facilities in 2020.

The strategy yielded historic results by 2024. Under the guidance of Spanish coach Juan Carlos Carcedo, appointed in June 2023, the team captured its first major honour, the Cypriot Cup, by defeating Omonia 3–0 on 18 May 2024. This success served as a springboard for European competition. In the 2024–25 season, Pafos navigated the UEFA Europa Conference League, reaching the round of 16 before being eliminated by Djurgårdens IF. Domestically, the club reached its zenith by securing its first league championship in 2024–25, clinching the title with a 4–0 victory over Aris Limassol on 5 May 2025.

The club's momentum continued into the 2025–26 campaign as they entered the UEFA Champions League qualifiers. After overcoming Maccabi Tel Aviv and Dynamo Kyiv, Pafos defeated Red Star Belgrade in the play-off round to secure a historic place in the league phase. Despite the high-profile success, the club has seen significant turnover in leadership; following Carcedo's departure in January 2026, the club appointed Albert Celades, who was subsequently replaced by Ricardo Sá Pinto in April 2026. Today, the club maintains its identity through a logo featuring the Cypriot hero Evagoras Pallikarides, symbolizing its deep roots in the Paphos region even as it competes on the continental stage.
