In short: Selected in the first round of the 2001 NFL draft, Reggie Wayne spent 14 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. He retired as one of the most prolific receivers in league history, holding franchise records for receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns while cementing his legacy as a cornerstone of the Colts' offense.

Reggie Wayne's journey began at the University of Miami, where he set a freshman record of 48 receptions in 1997. Drafted 30th overall by the Indianapolis Colts in 2001, he was initially expected to complement star receiver Marvin Harrison. Wayne quickly proved his value, eventually surpassing Harrison in several major franchise categories, including total receptions, receiving yards, and targets. His career was defined by durability and high-level performance, highlighted by six Pro Bowl selections and a victory in Super Bowl XLI.

His professional tenure was marked by remarkable milestones. In 2012, he broke Cris Carter's record for consecutive games with three or more receptions, reaching 59. By 2013, he became the ninth player in NFL history to reach 1,000 career receptions. Despite suffering a season-ending ACL tear that same year, he returned to the field, eventually becoming the ninth receiver to record 14,000 career yards in 2014. Throughout his career, he played 211 games for the Colts, breaking Peyton Manning's franchise record for games played in 2014.

Wayne's influence extended beyond his playing days. After a brief, short-lived stint with the New England Patriots in 2015, he retired in 2016, ranking 7th all-time in career receptions and 8th in receiving yards. His impact on the organization was formally recognized in 2018 when he was inducted into the Colts' Ring of Honor. Today, he continues to shape the next generation of talent as the wide receivers coach for the Indianapolis Colts, a role he has held since 2022.
