From West Hollywood stages to reality television, the multifaceted journey of Salina EsTitties
In short: Jason De Puy, known as drag performer Salina EsTitties, has navigated a complex path from musical theatre student to reality television fixture. Beyond the glamour of RuPaul's Drag Race and Big Brother, his story is defined by resilience, sobriety, and a persistent, often challenging, commitment to authentic cultural representation.
Born in 1990 and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jason De Puy grew up in a supportive, socially progressive environment. After moving to West Hollywood to pursue musical theatre, he faced significant personal hurdles, including homelessness and substance abuse. At age 21, De Puy began his journey with Alcoholics Anonymous, achieving long-term sobriety. He has since become an advocate, speaking openly about the dangers of chemsex and the lack of queer-friendly education that contributed to his early struggles.
As Salina EsTitties, De Puy has built a career as a drag queen, musician, and performer. Her drag persona, inspired by Selena, has appeared on various television programs and stages. Her tenure on the fifteenth season of RuPaul's Drag Race was marked by high-energy lip-syncs and a unique, often debated, approach to runway fashion. While critics praised her ability to elevate her Latina and West Coast heritage, she faced mixed reviews for her garment construction and runway execution, eventually speaking out about feeling under-celebrated for her cultural contributions.
De Puy’s reality television career expanded significantly in 2026. He competed on the eleventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars and appeared as a houseguest on season 28 of Big Brother, where he finished in 15th place. His involvement in the Big Brother franchise includes multiple promotional appearances and a notable performance in the Big Brother Battle Royale, where he nearly secured a $10,000 prize for The Trevor Project. Throughout these experiences, EsTitties has utilized her platform to perform drag impressions and maintain a distinct, albeit sometimes polarizing, presence in the public eye.
