In short: Tom Meighan rose to fame as the lead vocalist of Kasabian, a band that secured five number-one albums in the UK. Yet, his trajectory shifted dramatically in 2020 following a domestic assault conviction. Today, he navigates a solo career while addressing his past struggles with addiction and mental health.

Born in Blaby in 1981, Meighan co-founded Kasabian in 1997. As the band's primary vocalist, he became known for an intense, frenetic stage presence often compared to Liam Gallagher. During his tenure, the group achieved significant commercial success, including four top-10 singles. Beyond his work with Kasabian, Meighan explored various creative avenues, including a hip-hop collaboration called Mic Rockers and a brief acting role in the sitcom pilot Walk Like a Panther.

The turning point in Meighan's career occurred in July 2020. Following his departure from Kasabian, he pleaded guilty to assaulting his fiancée, Vikki Ager, in an incident that took place on 9 April 2020. Court proceedings revealed a sustained assault involving physical violence and threats. Meighan later attributed his actions to struggles with alcohol addiction and ADHD, stating that his diagnosis helped him understand his behavioral issues. He was sentenced to perform community service for the offense.

Since 2020, Meighan has sought to rebuild his career as a solo artist. He released his debut album, The Reckoning, in 2023, followed by RoadRunner in 2025. His music has also intersected with advocacy; his track 'Would You Mind' was utilized by the organization Andy's Man Club for a mental health campaign. Throughout his public life, Meighan has maintained a complex relationship with his image, having previously criticized the media's portrayal of artists while also supporting various charities, including the Teenage Cancer Trust and Oxfam.
