Professional Wrestling and the 2025 Worlds End Event in Hoffman Estates, Illinois
In short: On December 27, 2025, All Elite Wrestling hosted its third annual Worlds End pay-per-view at the Now Arena. The event served as the culmination of the 2025 Continental Classic tournament and featured a high-stakes four-way main event that reshaped the landscape of the promotion's top championship titles.
The 2025 edition of Worlds End marked the fifth time All Elite Wrestling utilized the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, following previous events like All Out. The broadcast reached audiences through traditional cable, satellite, and digital platforms, including HBO Max, Prime Video, and Triller TV. The event was presented by Bell's Two Hearted IPA and featured a total of thirteen matches, four of which occurred during the Zero Hour pre-show.
The main event saw MJF capture the AEW World Championship in a four-way match against Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and Adam Page. MJF secured his entry into this contest by invoking a Casino Gauntlet match contract during a contract signing on December 17. The tournament structure of the Continental Classic also reached its conclusion, with Jon Moxley defeating Kazuchika Okada in the final. This victory awarded Moxley the AEW Continental Championship and effectively ended the unification of that title with the AEW International Championship, rendering the AEW Unified Championship inactive.
The tournament dynamics were complex, as Okada had previously unified the Continental and International titles under the AEW Unified Championship banner. Despite this, only the Continental Championship was contested as the prize for the 2025 tournament. The storylines leading into Worlds End were developed through weekly television programs, Dynamite and Collision, reflecting the ongoing feuds between the participants. Other notable results included Kris Statlander successfully defending the AEW Women's World Championship against Jamie Hayter, rounding out a night of significant shifts in the promotion's competitive hierarchy.
