Hull City returns to the Premier League after a decade in the wilderness
In short: After years away from the top flight, Hull City A.F.C. is back in the Premier League. Following a successful 2026 EFL play-off campaign, the club is preparing for its 123rd season with a new kit supplier and a refreshed schedule of international pre-season fixtures.
The 2026–27 campaign marks a significant milestone for Hull City, representing their first season in the Premier League since the 2016–17 season. This return follows their promotion via the 2026 EFL play-offs, ending a long absence from the highest tier of English football. To prepare for this intense schedule, the squad began training at the Cottingham Training Ground on 13 July, embarking on a pre-season tour that took them through Slovenia and Istanbul, Turkey.
The club's preparations extend beyond the pitch to commercial partnerships and kit aesthetics. Oxen Sports has stepped in as the new kit supplier, providing a traditional home kit of black and amber vertical stripes. Meanwhile, the club has secured its financial footing by extending its sponsorship deal with Corendon Airlines; the airline's logo will remain prominently displayed on both the home and away kits through the end of the 2028–29 season.
Competition for the Tigers will be fierce across multiple fronts. In addition to the Premier League, the club is competing in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup. Having entered the EFL Cup in the second round as a non-competing European club, they faced Stoke City away before being drawn against Sunderland in the third round. The club's third kit, a blue ensemble with white and gold trims, was specifically designated for use during that League Cup clash against Sunderland.
