In short: After falling to the second division in 2011, Al-Hussein SC transformed from a struggling side into a relentless powerhouse. Now a three-time consecutive champion, the club has mastered the art of the late-season surge to conquer the Jordanian Pro League.

The trajectory of Al-Hussein SC is a study in resilience. Founded in 1964, the Irbid-based club spent decades establishing itself, earning promotion to the Jordan League in 1975 and making its regional debut in the 1993 Arab Club Champions Cup. However, the club faced a significant crisis during the 2010–11 season when a 3–1 playoff loss to Kufrsoum resulted in their first-ever relegation to Division 1.

The climb back to the top was methodical. After winning the Division 1 title in 2012–13, the club returned to the top flight for the 2013–14 season. While they have tasted continental success—notably winning their group and reaching the quarter-finals of the 2005 AFC Cup—their most profound era of dominance arrived much more recently.

Between the 2023–24 and 2025–26 seasons, Al-Hussein achieved an unprecedented feat: three consecutive Jordanian Pro League titles. Their 2023–24 campaign was defined by defensive excellence, conceding only six goals and suffering just one defeat. The following season saw them clinch the title through a dramatic late equalizer by Al-Ramtha against Al-Wehdat. By the 2025–26 season, they secured their third straight trophy with a 1–0 victory over Al-Faisaly, later completing a domestic double with a 3–0 FA Cup win over Al-Ramtha.

Despite this recent golden era, the club has faced heartbreak in cup finals, losing to Al-Wehdat on penalties for two consecutive years. Today, they continue to play at the 12,000-capacity Al-Hassan Stadium, a venue that has hosted their rise from the second tier to the pinnacle of Jordanian football.
