In short: At just 16 years old, Andrej Rendla shattered a national record by stepping onto the pitch for Dukla Banská Bystrica. His precocious start launched him into the Dutch league, where he faced the grueling reality of professional sports: high-profile success followed by a devastating physical setback.

Andrej Rendla's entry into professional football was marked by unprecedented speed. Debuting for Dukla Banská Bystrica just one day after his 16th birthday, he became the youngest player in history to play in the Slovak Superliga. During this initial stint, he appeared in 21 league matches and scored a single goal before catching the attention of international scouts. The club noticed his potential quickly after these appearances. He was eventually scouted by a larger organization.

His trajectory shifted significantly in the summer of 2007 when he signed a youth contract with the Dutch club FC Twente. His time in their youth system was highly productive; he notably secured two goals in the final of the Youth Super Cup against De Graafschap's youth side. This success paved the way for his professional debut in the Dutch league on November 25, 2007, where he entered as a substitute during an away match against Sparta Rotterdam. He replaced Stein Huysegems during the late stages of that match. The game took place in an away setting.

However, the transition from youth prospect to senior professional is often fraught with physical risk. In January 2008, only months after his league debut, Rendla suffered a serious knee ligament injury. This injury sidelined him for the remainder of that year, representing a significant hurdle in his development. He eventually returned to the FC Twente squad during the 2009–10 pre-season, marking a period of recovery and rebuilding for the Slovak forward. His absence lasted until the final months of the calendar year. He finally rejoined the first team for training in 2009.
