How a reality TV contestant became an award-winning international film actress
In short: In 2016, Heaven Peralejo rose to prominence on Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7. Since then, she has transitioned from supporting roles to winning prestigious international accolades, including Best Actress at the Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival for her horror film Lilim.
Heaven Peralejo's career trajectory is marked by a significant shift from reality television to critically acclaimed acting. She first gained widespread recognition in 2016 as a housemate on the Philippine reality show Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7, where she was known by the moniker "Ang Mommy's Angel ng Makati." Her time on the show was cut short on Day 72 when she chose to exit voluntarily to be with her mother during a cancer diagnosis and upcoming surgery.
Following her stint in reality TV, Peralejo built a diverse filmography across television series and films. A breakout role occurred during the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival in Nanahimik ang Gabi. This role earned her a Best Actress nomination and eventually led to her winning the 39th Luna Awards for Best Actress. Her international recognition grew when she secured the Best Actress in a Leading Role title at the 2023 Asian Academy Creative Awards.
Her recent work has seen her expand into the horror genre and international film festivals. Peralejo continues to be a prolific figure in Philippine media, appearing in various series like the University Series and films such as Out of Order, which premiered at the 3rd Da Nang Asian Film Festival.
Beyond acting, Peralejo is a business graduate from Southville International School Affiliated with Foreign Affairs, having graduated in November 2023. She has also ventured into entrepreneurship as a business partner in The Food Market, which has branches in BGC and Alabang Westgate.
