To protect his research from being interrupted by pestering nobles, he strives to keep his extraordinary abilities a secret. His immense mana often manifests as a massive black, skull-eyed entity. This terrifying power is matched by his complete lack of interest in succession or romantic pursuits.

Lloyd’s journey is complicated by his entourage and the magical landscape of the Kingdom of Saloum. He is accompanied by Grimtaro, a demon who was once sealed in a forbidden book but now serves Lloyd as an adorable small goat. His household includes Sylpha Langlis, a former A-rank adventurer and his personal bodyguard, and his siblings, such as the second prince Albert and the fourth princess Saria. His loyal companion, Grimtaro, can transform into a human-demon hybrid during intense battles. Additionally, his bodyguard Sylpha is a skilled swordswoman and the sole heir to the House of Langlis.

The narrative explores the complexities of magical control through various characters. For instance, members of the Assassins Guild, such as the Poison Blighted, struggle with innate abilities they cannot manage. Lloyd’s intervention in their mana flow allows them to control their powers, such as reducing lethal poison to a mere knockout gas. This theme of mastery and the pursuit of perfection defines Lloyd's existence in his new royal life. The story also features characters like Dian, a blacksmith dreaming of creating the ultimate Spellbound Sword. Furthermore, the plot involves the Assassins Guild, a group dedicated to eliminating evil that the Adventurer's Guild cannot handle.
