In a world of female magic, one boy breaks every rule.
In short: For centuries, only women were thought capable of becoming Witches—specialized hunters who harness the power of magical monsters called Majiks. Then came Ichi. A feral survivor raised in isolation, he achieved the impossible by performing a trial that rewrote the laws of magic and history.
The world of 'Ichi the Witch' is governed by the existence of Majiks, creatures composed entirely of magic. To combat them, humans utilize Witches who must undergo specific trials to extract power from these beings. While this path was historically reserved for women, Ichi became the first male witch after intervening in a battle between Uroro and Desscaras. Because he passed Uroro's trial—which normally restricts women from harming his heart—he received a gender-based exemption that allowed him to claim her power.
Ichi’s journey is defined by a 'death-for-death' survival code, learned as an abandoned child on Druid Mountain. His training was initially self-taught before being refined by the Magikeeper Minakata ten years ago. Now, he serves as an assistant to Desscaras, the Abyssal Witch and one of the most powerful members of the Mantinel Witches Association. Their partnership is cemented by a binding blood oath that intertwines their fates, a move fueled by Desscaras's desire for vengeance against the World-Hater Majik.
The power dynamics of this world are complex and institutionalized. The Mantinel Witches Association oversees high-ranking figures like the Analytic Witch, who vouched for Ichi’s legitimacy, and the Silver Snow Witch, a perfectionist who achieved Full Witch status at just 11 years old. Meanwhile, the government maintains the Magikeepers—a male-led group using 'sacred treasures' made of Shaka wood to police magic criminals. This creates a tense balance between official magical authority and state-sanctioned oversight.
