From costume design to digital stardom: the multifaceted career of voice actor Marissa Lenti
In short: Born in 1992, Marissa Lenti has built a diverse career spanning voice acting, directing, and digital performance. Before becoming a recognizable voice in anime and gaming, Lenti spent years as a seamstress and costume designer. Today, she is known for roles in The Amazing Digital Circus and as a VTuber.
Marissa Lenti’s path to the recording booth was unconventional. Starting in theatre at age 8 and on-camera work by 12, she eventually pivoted toward costume design in college. However, she ultimately chose to chase a career in voice acting, using savings from her own costume and doll-making business to relocate from Boston to Texas. This leap of faith proved pivotal after she attended a convention in Dallas and met ADR director Tyler Walker, who provided her first opportunities in the industry.
Lenti’s early voice acting credits include roles in Tokyo ESP and Fairy Tail, where she voiced Libra. Her breakout moment as a lead performer arrived with the character Chiaki Hoshinomori in the series Gamers!. Beyond acting, Lenti expanded her professional footprint in May 2016 by joining Sound Cadence Studios. There, she took on roles as an ADR director, writer, and production assistant, overseeing projects such as Kemono Friends, Kageki Shoujo!!, and Arte. Her versatility has allowed her to navigate both the creative and technical sides of production.
In recent years, Lenti has embraced new digital frontiers. In May 2023, she debuted as a VTuber, performing under the persona of Vixen, an anthropomorphic reindeer originating from the North Pole. This project reflects her ongoing evolution as a performer. Outside of her professional work, Lenti identifies as agender and asexual, using she/they pronouns. Her background is rooted in Italian, Irish, and MENA descent, contributing to a career defined by a wide range of creative expressions and a willingness to adapt to the changing landscape of digital media.
