The dynamic shifts as Kyotaro observes the reality of Anna's life. Despite her status as a magazine model and actress (under the name Anna Akino), she possesses a clumsy side and a complex guilt complex that causes her significant anxiety about being an inconvenience to others. As they spend more time together in the library, Kyotaro’s delusions are replaced by genuine romantic affection. This transition is marked by his growing perception of her quirks, such as her habit of sneaking prohibited snacks into school.
The series explores a wide spectrum of social archetypes and interpersonal dynamics. It features characters like Chihiro Kobayashi, who remains oblivious to the main couple's relationship, and Moeko, an academically capable 'gyaru' who recognizes Kyotaro’s potential for romance. The story also touches on themes of jealousy and rivalry, notably with classmates like Adachi, who eventually becomes a friend despite their initial competition over Anna's affection.
The adaptation has seen significant success since its manga serialization on Champion Cross. An anime series aired in 2023, followed by an original net animation (ONA) in December of that year. A second season premiered in early 2024, with a third season scheduled for 2027.
