In short: Imagine a world where humanity's last-ditch effort to save itself actually triggers an apocalypse. In the manga Versus, a desperate magical ritual summons survivors from eleven different timelines into a single, chaotic reality. To survive, these disparate civilizations must stop fighting each other and start tricking their common enemies into mutual destruction.

The narrative centers on 'Sorcerion,' a medieval fantasy world facing extinction at the hands of 'Natural Enemies'—a race of oppressive demons. In a desperate move, sorcerers attempted to summon saviors from alternate timelines. This backfired spectacularly: instead of bringing in heroes, the ritual fused thirteen dimensions together. This resulted in a massive convergence where humans, demons, and various alien species from across eleven timelines were suddenly forced into the same geographic space.

The resulting 'Combined Forces of Humanity' is a patchwork alliance of wildly different cultures and technologies. It includes the Mecha Ordinance, which utilizes advanced machinery; the Earth Defense Force, which believes its world is the most technologically advanced; and the Disastrous Metropolis, which provides expertise on kaiju society. These groups must navigate internal tensions, such as the Neo Terra representative who secretly plans to betray the alliance, and the various factions like the Land of the Lawless or the Land of the Law.

The core strategy for survival is not direct confrontation, but manipulation. Led by the strategist Zaybi—who inadvertently caused the dimensional fusion—the alliance aims to exploit the 'Natural Enemies' by tricking them into fighting one another. This high-stakes geopolitical chess match involves managing diverse assets, from the Titan's Crown warriors to the various Demon Lords, all while trying to evacuate endangered populations to preserve the human species.

In 2025, the shōnen category's 49th Kodansha Manga Award was secured by the series, which achieved notable acclaim. It explores themes of collective survival and the moral complexities of using deception as a primary weapon against overwhelming odds.
