In short: At just 16, Yehor Yarmolyuk became one of the youngest starters in the history of the Ukrainian top flight. Now a central midfielder for Brentford, his journey from the Dnipro-1 academy to the senior Ukraine national team highlights a meteoric ascent through the ranks of European football.

Yehor Yarmolyuk's professional trajectory is defined by early maturity and tactical versatility. A product of the Dnipro-1 academy, he signed his first professional three-year contract in May 2019 at age 15.

His technical profile allows him to operate as a number 6, 8, or 10. Former Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has praised his intensity, noting that Yarmolyuk is one of the best trainers and works with the high intensity required to break into a first team. This work ethic facilitated his €1.6 million transfer to Brentford on 14 July 2022, a move that saw him progress from the club's B team to a regular Premier League starter.

Yarmolyuk's rise has been marked by significant individual recognition and international progression. He was named the Ukrainian Association of Football Best U15 Attacker in 2019 and has since earned 'Golden talent of Ukraine' honors in the U19 category for 2023 and the U21 category for 2024. After making his senior debut for Ukraine in 2025, he has become a regular member of the national squad, following a period of youth international success, including appearing in every match for the Ukraine U21 side during the 2025 UEFA European U21 Championship.

Despite setbacks, such as a torn hamstring during the 2022–23 season, his momentum has remained consistent. By the 2025–26 season, he had become a mainstay in the Brentford midfield, starting 33 of his 42 appearances and scoring his first goal for the club against Sunderland in January 2026.
