How far do you actually travel in a lifetime through the vast universe?
In short: You are living on a spinning planet orbiting a star that is moving through a galaxy. This video explores the total distance you cover during your life, visualizing your journey through space beyond just your movements on Earth.
Fabio Pacucci and Lindsay DeMarchi examine the cumulative distance a person travels over a lifetime. By accounting for the Earth's rotation, its orbit around the Sun, and the Sun's movement through the galaxy, they calculate the significant progress you make through the universe.
The video uses the concept of a holographic map to visualize this journey, illustrating that even while stationary on Earth, you are constantly hurtling through space.
