The brotherhood behind one of college football's most feared backfields
In short: This documentary explores the rise of Sony Michel and Nick Chubb, the elite running backs who laid the foundation for a new era of dominance at the University of Georgia.
The film chronicles the intersecting journeys of two distinct athletes: Sony Michel, a five-star phenom from South Florida, and Nick Chubb, a small-town powerhouse. Together, they formed 'Thunder & Lightning,' a backfield duo that became legendary for its impact on SEC Saturdays.
Moving past personal metrics, the film emphasises their collective journey—spanning early fame in secondary school to Rose Bowl triumphs and devastating national title defeats. It captures how their partnership sparked a cultural shift in Georgia football, creating a legacy that continues to resonate in Athens.
