In short: Created by Keanu Reeves and Matt Kindt, BRZRKR follows B, an immortal being with godlike strength and a violent past. After 80,000 years of carnage, he works for the U.S. government as a living weapon, hoping they can finally unlock the secret to his mortality and end his suffering.

The character B was born in prehistoric times to a mother who prayed for a protector for her tribe. Instead of a human child, she conceived a being of cosmic energy who grew rapidly and possessed immense, uncontrollable rage. Known as Unute, or weapon, he was trained to defend his people through brutal warfare. Following the destruction of his tribe and the death of his mother, B spent tens of thousands of years wandering the Earth, toppling empires and leaving a trail of violence that left him with deep psychological scars.

In the modern era, B is studied by government scientist Dr. Diana Ahuja, who helps him confront his repressed memories. While the U.S. government, led by the manipulative Caldwell, exploits B as a black-ops asset and attempts to replicate his DNA for super-soldiers, B remains focused on his singular goal: finding an ancient artifact that can strip him of his abilities. This quest leads to a climactic confrontation where B must navigate his own history and the cosmic origins of his existence to finally achieve the peace of death.

The project began as a 12-issue comic series launched in 2021 by Boom! Studios. It achieved massive commercial success, with its debut issue selling roughly 615,000 copies—the highest-selling single issue since 2015. The franchise has since expanded into a broader universe, including one-shot spin-offs, a novel co-authored by China Miéville, and ongoing adaptations for Netflix, including a feature film directed by Justin Lin and a two-season anime series.
