A retired Rear Admiral is now leading the charge to normalize UAP research
In short: Timothy Gallaudet, a former high-ranking naval oceanographer, has transitioned from military command to the forefront of the search for unidentified anomalous phenomena. By advocating for the de-stigmatization of these sightings, he bridges the gap between traditional scientific inquiry and the controversial claims surrounding potential extraterrestrial technology and government transparency.
Born in 1967, Timothy Gallaudet built a distinguished career in the United States Navy, specializing in oceanography and meteorology. After graduating from the United States Naval Academy in 1989, he earned advanced degrees from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, culminating in a Ph.D. in 2001. His military service included commanding the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command and serving as the Oceanographer of the Navy. Beyond his technical expertise in hydrographic surveying and anti-submarine warfare, he pioneered the integration of unmanned aerial and underwater vehicles for the Navy SEALs.
Following his retirement from active duty in 2017, Gallaudet transitioned into civilian leadership, serving within the Department of Commerce. He held senior roles overseeing the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, where he focused on marine exploration, sustainable seafood, and the advancement of the blue economy. Today, as the CEO of Ocean STL Consulting and a podcast host, he has pivoted toward a different kind of exploration: the study of unidentified anomalous phenomena and unidentified submerged objects.
Gallaudet has become a prominent voice in the movement for government disclosure regarding UAP. He has publicly supported whistleblower David Grusch and serves on the advisory board of Americans for Safe Aerospace, a nonprofit led by military pilots. Furthermore, he contributes to Avi Loeb’s Galileo Project, which seeks physical evidence of extraterrestrial artifacts. His involvement extends to media, including participation in the 2025 documentary The Age of Disclosure, as he continues to push for a more open scientific and public dialogue about phenomena that remain officially unexplained.
