A musical tribute sent from a Roman stage to the stars
In short: Watch how the Alan Parsons Live Project bridged the gap between Earth and orbit by dedicating a classic track to an astronaut currently in space.
Luca Parmitano, an ESA astronaut, received a dedication of the track 'Eye in the Sky' from Alan Parsons while he was performing at Rome's Foro Italico on 23 July. A recorded video message of the dedication was transmitted to the International Space Station, where Parmitano reacted with enthusiasm.
The tribute highlights Parmitano's significance as a pioneer; while he is the sixth Italian astronaut in space, he was the first to conduct spacewalks during his Volare mission, physically leaving the protective shell of his spacecraft.
