A musical salute to the crew docking the Edoardo Amaldi
In short: This musical greeting celebrates ESA astronaut André Kuipers and cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko as they prepare for a critical mission: overseeing the automatic docking of the Automated Transfer Vehicle, Edoardo Amaldi.
The video commemorates the arrival of the third Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV) on 28 March 2012. During this mission, André Kuipers and Oleg Kononenko worked together within the Russian Zarya module to monitor the vessel's fully automatic docking manoeuvre. Their role was to observe the process minute by minute and stand ready to intervene if any issues arose during the docking.
