ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen begins his second six-month mission to the International Space Station
Andreas Mogensen has returned to space for his Huginn mission. Launched aboard a Crew Dragon spacecraft, he and his international crew are spending half a year conducting research 420 kilometers above Earth. This video captures the key moments of his journey, from arrival to successful docking.
The Huginn mission launched on 26 August 2023 from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Mogensen is joined by astronauts Jasmin Moghbeli, Satoshi Furukawa, and Konstantin Borisov. This flight marks Mogensen's first time using a Crew Dragon spacecraft, following his initial 10-day iriss mission in 2015.
The crew spent approximately 30 hours in transit before docking with the International Space Station. The mission includes a microgravity indicator and involves the crew living and working in orbit for about six months.
