The final countdown begins for the Soyuz TMA-21 crew
In short: Watch the moments the Soyuz TMA-21 spacecraft and its booster arrived at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. This footage captures the final preparations for a mission to the International Space Station.
On April 2, the Soyuz TMA-21 spacecraft and booster were transported via railcar to the launch pad in Kazakhstan. The mission, scheduled for launch on April 5, Baikonur time, aims to deliver a new trio to the International Space Station.
Joining the station are Commander Alexander Samokutyaev, alongside NASA's Ron Garan and Russia's Andrey Borisenko. They are set to join the existing crew—Dmitry Kondratyev, Cady Coleman, and Paolo Nespoli—who have been orbiting since December 2010. The video features insights from NASA officials, including Nicole Stott and Mike Lopez-Alegria, as the crew undergoes final training alongside their backups.
