The final preparations before a journey into the orbital frontier
In short: Watch the final transition from terrestrial training to the launchpad as the Expedition 26 crew prepares to board the Soyuz TMA-20 spacecraft.
Traditional rituals were performed by Russian commander Dmitry Kondratyev alongside Cady Coleman of NASA and Paolo Nespoli from ESA at Star City's Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center on 3 December 2010. This marked the end of their primary training phase before departing for the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
The crew's journey to the launch site serves as the final bridge to their December 16 mission. At Baikonur, they undergo a rigorous series of prelaunch activities designed to ensure safety and readiness for their voyage to the International Space Station.
