In short: Watch the final crew of the space shuttle program arrive at Kennedy Space Center. This video captures the transition from the shuttle era to a new phase of orbital logistics.
On July 4, the four astronauts designated for the final shuttle flight arrived at NASA's Kennedy Space Center to begin prelaunch preparations. The mission, STS-135, was scheduled for liftoff on July 8 at 11:26 a.m. from the Shuttle Landing Facility.
To transport the Raffaello multi-purpose logistics module, the team including Rex Walheim, Sandy Magnus, Doug Hurley, and Commander Chris Ferguson was assigned the duty. This cargo was essential for sustaining the International Space Station's operations once the shuttle fleet was officially retired.
