How NASA manages the complex operations of the Hubble Space Telescope
In short: This video provides an update from Flight Day 7 of the Hubble servicing mission. It details how mission control teams coordinate around the clock to monitor telescope systems and facilitate scientific observations during critical spacewalks.
The Space Operations Control Center, or STOCC, maintains 24/7 monitoring of all Hubble systems. During the final shuttle servicing mission, coordination is essential between the STOCC, the Houston mission control flight team, and two specialized groups: the Orbit Team and the Planning Team. This collaborative effort ensures the success of high-priority tasks, such as the first of five planned spacewalks, which has already helped fulfill two of the mission's three primary objectives.
