The logistical dance of welcoming new residents to orbit
In short: Watch how international crews transition from launch to life aboard the International Space Station. This footage captures the precise moment of arrival and the initial integration into one of humanity's most complex orbital laboratories.
The video illustrates the handover between space expeditions, specifically highlighting the arrival of Expedition 46-47 members: Yuri Malenchenko (Roscosmos), Tim Kopra (NASA), and Tim Peake (ESA). After a six-hour journey from Kazakhstan's Baikonur Cosmodrome, they joined Commander Scott Kelly and his crew.
More recent footage shows the arrival of Expedition 74 in July 2026. These missions highlight the ongoing international cooperation between NASA, Roscosmos, and the ESA as astronauts spend up to eight-and-a-half months conducting research while mastering the nuances of orbital living.
