How NASA's Artemis I mission paved the way for future human lunar exploration

Over a 25.5-day period, the spacecraft executed two lunar flybys, reaching a proximity of 80 miles to the lunar surface and traveling as far as 270,000 miles from Earth.

The mission concluded with a successful parachute-assisted splashdown in the Pacific Ocean. By exceeding efficiency expectations and establishing new safety baselines for deep space, Artemis I acts as a foundational prelude to the Artemis II mission, which will carry human beings around the Moon.
